Abington Zoning Board approves two ADU conversions in one night
Zoning Board · Meeting of June 11, 2026
Abington Zoning Board approves two ADU conversions in one night. The Zoning Board of Appeals, chaired again by Richard Peterson after a reorganization vote that also reseated Vice Chair Robert Manning and Clerk Richard Negrelli, unanimously granted findings converting an oversized 1,100-square-foot in-law apartment at 58 Coleman Street, owned by James Davison, and a rebuilt garage-topped unit at 623 Adams Street, owned by Mitch Ward, into accessory dwelling units. Davison withdrew a parallel variance request without prejudice after the board signaled it preferred treating the case as a finding.
Abutter John DiClemente objected to windows overlooking his pool at the Adams Street property; builder Nicholas Harney and Ward agreed, with no binding conditions attached, to reposition several windows, with Ward telling the board he didn't want to promise changes he "can't keep because that would be more disrespectful than being honest."
