Select Board Appoints Transit Authority Representative
Select Board · Meeting of October 1, 2026
Abington Select Board fills long-vacant Brockton transit authority seat. Meeting by special Zoom session Thursday, the board voted 5-0 to appoint member Bill to the Brockton Area Transit Authority board after Town Administrator Michael Moresco told members the town had nobody representing it, a gap exposed when resident Richard Ripley complained the authority would not post public-safety information on its buses. "I spoke with Michael Lambert, who is the administrator and chair of the board," Moresco said, describing repeated outreach that went unresolved.
The board also voted 5-0 to release, with no redactions, executive session minutes from an April 29, 2024 meeting, after Chair Paul noted he was the only current member who served on the board at that time. Member Ken confirmed the transit authority seat is unpaid before casting his vote.
