Abington Council on Aging hosts third annual Kentucky Derby party

Abington Council on Aging marks its biggest Kentucky Derby Party yet at the Senior Center. Director Amy Barrett called it "the biggest one yet," with musician Jim Armstrong performing live and a catered lunch of sandwiches, pasta salad, potato salad and pastries. Town Manager Michael Maresco, Select Board member Paul Bunker and Superintendent Felicia Michelle stopped by, with Maresco calling it "part of Americana in the United States." Beth and Marsha of the social media project Two Grannies on the Road visited to document the event, saying senior centers "get seniors out being social." Residents Debra and Pat Jackman showed off Derby-themed hats as part of the afternoon's contest.
